This house was substantially completed as a residential self-build training course by 25 trainees over 3 weeks in the summer of 2000. The trainees built the concrete-beam-and-polystyrene-pot ground floor, and the timber frame walls as panels . They learned hands-on plumbing, and electrics (back then it was still legal to do your own wiring), saw the Warmcel installed and started tiling the roof.

We made use of logs obtained locally as structural columns, complementing the slate floor to achieve quite an 'elemental' interior.
